SWEDISH MASSAGE THERAPY
The goal of Swedish Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase the blood flow to your heart. Swedish Massage is extremely therapeutic as it decreases muscle toxins, increases oxygen levels in the blood, and improves flexibility in the body.
PRE- AND POST- NATAL MASSAGE THERAPY
Prenatal massage relaxes tension, improves circulation and mobility, and is tailored specifically to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies.
We use a special massage table for pregnant women that is safe for both mom and baby. It has cut outs that allows room for expanding bellies and an adjustable sling that cradles and supports the belly without placing tension on the ligaments.
INFANT MASSAGE THERAPY
Massage therapy for babies right from birth to age 2.Massaging an infant can reduce crying and fussiness, help her sleep more peacefully, and alleviate common issues like constipation and colic. Some say it even boosts a baby's ability to fight off germs.
Other common treatable conditions include:
KIDS MASSAGE THERAPY
Massage therapy for kids ages 2-15. Studies have also shown that children’s massage can reduce anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. Decreasing stress, in turn, can aid in improving sleeping habits. Massage is extremely beneficial for kids with Autism, ADD/ADHD, Cerebral Palsy, as well as competitive athletes, and kids involved in recreational sports.
Younger children often have a shorter attention span, so a 30-minute session would be more than appropriate. As children approach teen age years, 30 or 45-minute sessions could be appropriate depending on the requests of the client.
AROMATHERAPY
Aromatherapy is massage therapy with essential oils added to the massage oil or lotion. Essential oils are thought to affect the limbic system (part of the brain that affects the nervous system) or be absorbed through the skin where they produce different properties - some calm while others energize. Some common blends are:
CUPPING
A therapeutic cupping treatment involves placing cups, usually made of glass or silicone, on the skin and creating a vacuum. The vacuum causes the tissue to be drawn up into the cup which increases the blood flow, loosens the fascia or connective tissue, and is thought to stimulate healing. It is similar to the way deep tissue massage can be used to break up scar tissue and reduce pain.
Our Massage Therapists are all registered and in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario. Direct billing is available to plans that allow online submission and receipts will be issued to those who require them.
